This year is the 10th Anniversary of Ride on Nelly and I’ve done 8 of the 9 previous events only missing last years 100 mile ride due to racing the same day, but I still made it to the party! The event raises thousands of pounds for CALM so they can continue to help people in need.
This year I’m riding the event with my daughter, Loren, who lost her brother Hayden to suicide 3 years ago. Of course we’re taking on the 100 mile ‘Full Monty’ route. It’s a great route and really fullfilling and emotional crossing the finish line after a great day out on bikes. While I’ve ridden 100 miles or more plenty of times, Loren has not ridden her bike this far so will be a real challenge for her both physically and emotionally.
We want to raise as much money as possible for CALM in memory of Hayden [my son], Nelson Pratt, Matt Pascoe and Carl Lovell [friends] who all took their own lives in the last 10 years.

I’m taking part in Tour de Test Valley for CALM because 125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this.
If you want to take part you can still enter the event here: https://nelsonstourdetestvalley.co.uk
If you are struggling then please get in touch with CALM via the website, phone line or web chat.
CALM’s helpline and livechat are open from 5pm to midnight everyday. 365 days a year.
