Here we go! Not posted much about the Multiple Myeloma diagnosis but treatment starts today. 4 months of targeted chemo followed by stem cell transplant. Thank you to everyone who commented or messaged last time I updated. Was pretty overwhelming. Staying positive now treatment has kicked off and can plan life around treatment dates. As they say… #fuckyoucancer

More Milky Way from last Thursday night on Dartmoor. 3 tracked and stack versions blended to single untracked foreground shots taken before the tracked exposures. The last shot against Bonehill Rocks is essentially the opposite side of the first two. Lots going on.

Haven’t managed to wild camp on Dartmoor since May, but what a night to fix that! Totally clear skies, a crescent moon setting early and no wind gave perfect conditions for myself and @astropostie to get out with the cameras, tents and wine. More processing and editing to do but so happy to get a dark sky camp done.

A second night at Hopes Nose for an hour or so to try some different settings for getting more of the Milky Way. The sequenced shots failed to stack properly but I did get a couple nice single exposures. Just nice to be able to get out and stare at the skies a bit more 🤩

Not been out for an astro shoot since May. Excuses aside, with a clear sky on a new moon night just could not miss a chance to get to a fave local spot. This time of year the Milky Way core rises behind the town but is still visble and worth having ago. These are both made of 10 sky frames tracked with the @moveshootmove Nomad, stacked and blended with a single foreground image.

Slide 1:
Sky: 10 x 2min 400 iso f2
Foreground: 1 x 30s 3200 iso f2
Stacked in Siril, blended and edited in photoshop.

Slide 2:
Sky: 10 x 1min at 800 iso f2 stacked in Siril
Foreground: 1 x 15s 1600 is f2
Blended and edited in photoshop.

Fairly happy with these considering I’ve not been out for the stars in months!
