World Masters Cyclocross Championships today and this year was dry and fast. Too fast for me after a near the back start position and a packed first lap moving up the field was tricky but managed to get to 70th. Was aiming for top 50 but with still getting over a recent cold it was a big ask. Thanks to @crossdelve for pics, video and encouragement from the pits. Great work by the CX Worlds event team. Looking forward to Hamburg next year. Felt like absolute crap this morning and was considering not racing the South West Regional CX Champs at Newnham. Racing with a head cold not the best idea but somehow managed 6th in Vet50. Not as close to podium as last year but just glad to get through it as really like this course, muddier the better! After almost no sleep from days of preparing the course I actually made it to the start line. A dream come true of holding a National Trophy Cyclocross round at Torbay Velopark after years of meetings to get new features built and many hours (not to mention thousand of pounds) to get this event going. The course is awesome and we had plenty of mud as well as some really cool ridable areas. The Bridge is superb and gotta say thanks to so many for being a part of this. After a terrible start I somehow rode/ran to 18th place in the Vet50 race and my first top 20 place at National level. Tomorrow we have another great bunch of races including the Elite/Pro’s from 1pm. Come and watch for free and grab a beer from @tqbeerworks or gin from @papillongindartmoor plus chat with @ned_boulting @millarmind and @manxrock its gonna be ace! #cyclocross #crossisboss #nationaltrophy #torbayvelopark #englishriviera #torbados #torbaycross #neverstraysfar

A dream come true of holding a National Trophy Cyclocross round at Torbay Velopark after years of meetings to get new features built and many hours (not to mention thousand of pounds) to get this event going. The course is awesome and we had plenty of mud as well as some really cool ridable areas. The Bridge is superb and gotta say thanks to so many for being a part of this. After a terrible start I somehow rode/ran to 18th place in the Vet50 race and my first top 20 place at National level. Tomorrow we have another great bunch of races including the Elite/Pro’s from 1pm.
